A combination of small boutique hotels or AirBnB seemed to be the best options when searching for a place to stay in the Venice area. During our last visit, we found the cutest bungalow located just off Rose Ave. which meant lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. within walking distance or just a short Uber ride away (either to Santa Monica OR the Venice Canals / Abbot Kinney Blvd.).

COFFEE + BRUNCH + LUNCH + SWEETS
Groundwork Coffee. Located at 1601 Montana Ave. Go for coffee + grab n go breaky bites + avo toast etc.
Rose Cafe & Restaurant. Breakfast, Brunch, Cafe. Located at 220 Rose Ave, Venice, CA 90291. Go for the pastries, breakfast bites, coffee or beverages. Expect to see lots of green space
Gjusta. Located at 320 Sunset Ave. Go for coffee + breakfast/lunch. Expect an incredible deli case of tasty bites (quiche, pizza, salads, etc.) or grab a number to order one of the many amazing made to order items (sandwiches, build your own options, smoothies, etc.). Order the quiche, mushroom bowl, or fish plate. NOTE: Expect long lines and not a lot of outdoor patio seating space.
THE BUTCHERS DAUGHTER Located at 1205 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, CA 90291. Go for Brunch. Expect lots of great vegan options and delicious bites. Order the avo toast benis + elixirs + fresh fruit. NOTE: Start here for brunch and then do a little shopping along Abbot Kinney Blvd.
Plant Food + Wine Located at 1009 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Go for brunch / happy hour / dinner. Expect a locally sourced + seasonal menu and a beautiful patio. Everything on the menu looks delish, but make sure to order the fresh basil lemonade.
Bondi Harvest Located at 1814 Berkeley St.. Go for brunch / lunch / smoothies / coffee. Expect laid back feels + a super cute indoor/outdoor situation. Order coffee, avo toast, breakfast burrito or a smoothie.

HAPPY HOUR + DINNER + LATE NIGHT HANGS
Gjelina. American (New). Located at 1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice. Go for Breakfast + Brunch + Happy Hour + Dinner. Named as one of the best restaurants on the Abbot Kinney by us. Order the mshrm pizza, vino from their great wine list, and the fig + burrata dish. Expect a super long wait to get in and a beautiful patio space. NOTE: Put your name on the list and then grab a bevi from Zinque (or do a little shopping on the Abbot Kinney Blvd.).
Zinque Located at 600 Venice Blvd., Venice. Go for Happy Hour and a bevi. This is a great location, although my fav is located at 8684 Melrose, Ave, West Hollywood.
Wabi Sabi Sushi Sushi. Located at 1637 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Go for the happy hour / dinner. Expect the cutest interior with plants, rose wallpaper, and the perfect window perch/people watching seating on the Abbot Kinney.
Salt Air Located at 1616 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Go for dinner. Perfect spot for a glass of rose and oysters.
Blue Plate Oysterette. Located at 1355 Ocean Ave. Santa Monicna. Go for the Oysters.
Neighbor. American (New). Located at 1031 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Go here for breakfast bites, happy hour, dinner, adult beverages etc. Expect a beautiful garden bistro ambiance + cozy venice vibes.

Exploring Abbot Kinney Blvd. is an absolute must. Not just for alluv the good eats, and coffee and happy hour bevs (many listed above), but also for alluv the great shops(!!) So. Here are a few of our favs:

When traveling to Venice, the canals are an absolute must. Grab a coffee from one of the many gems on Abbot Kinney and go for a stroll through the canals. This area of Venice is an absolute dream.
