Old World Charm. Beautiful Beach Sunsets. Cliffside Restaurants.
* * *
The city of Dubrovnik is deserving of a few nights stay (at minimum). This city is filled with beautiful beaches, cliffside restaurants/bars with the most beautiful sunsets you may ever experience + an old world charm.
48 hrs in Dubrovnik: Eat + Drink + Do.
EXPLORE
Take some time to stroll through the cobblestone streets of Old Town. Find a gelato stand + taste something sweet. But more importantly take some time to explore the beautiful beaches and swim in the Adriatic Sea.
DO + PLAY
St. Jacobs Beach is voted as a TOP10 beach by us, and was absolutely one of our faves during our stay (don't miss it!). This beach is a bit of a hike from Old Town (or quick scooter ride), however, the views looking back at the city are well worth it. Expect a much slower pace than some of the other beach "clubs", however, if you are looking to relax.. this is the beach for you. If you find yourself wanting to grab some lunch, no worries!! there is a restaurant located on the beach as well. NOTE: Finding this beach can be a little tricky if you've never been (we actually missed the turn and ended up walking through an old abandoned hotel.. so if you find yourself walking through said hotel, you've gone too far!)
Banje Beach. A much more populated beach club, filled with young single tourists and dance music. Banje is the closest beach to Old Town, located on the same side of town as St. Jacobs beach (mentioned above).
Club Boninovo. Do as the locals do. Located at Ul. branitelja Dubrovnika 52, 20000, Dubrovnik, Croatia. Go for a morning swim before your day of adventure around the city.
TOOK NOTE FOR NEXT TIME:
Walk the City Walls, Take the cable car up Mt. Srd, Rent a kayak for the afternoon/sunset
EAT + DRINK
Buža Bar: Is truly a hole in the wall bar offering "cold drinks with the most beautiful view" - you should quite literally look for the sign stating such. Expect people cliff jumping into the Adriatic + cool vibes. Located at Pera Chingrije 2, Dubrovnik. NOTE: This is a must go-to bar for sunset.
Azur: Local + seasonal ingredients, described as Mediterranean cuisine with an Asian twist. Tucked away in a side alley, not far from Buža Bar (mentioned above) Located at Pobijana 10, Dubrovnik. NOTE: This was our most favorite meal in Dubrovnik for the food, vino and vibes.
Bard Mala Buža: Another hole-in-the wall, Top10 spot rated by us to watch sunset in Dubrovnik. Located at Croatia, Ul. Ispod Mira 14, 20000, Dubrovnik, Croatia. Expect this area to be slightly more "upscale" in comparison to Buža Bar, but another great spot to sit cliff side and grab an adult beverage. NOTE: they are open late night as well.
Troubadour: Live Jazz Bar. Located behind Dubrovnik Cathedral at Buniceva Poljana 2, Dubrovnik 20000. Go for an evening night cap and live music. Expect to follow the sounds of Jazz music through the side streets to lead you to this small corner terrace.
Cave Bar a beautiful spot for a drink around sunset is the Cave bar. It's at the More hotel.
TOOK NOTE FOR NEXT TIME:
Coral Club, located on the same side of the city as Cave Bar. They play music after 4.
