STAY
There are a number of options via AirBnB when traveling with a large group like we did. We chose to stay at a stylish riverside villa in Canggu. The location was perfect offering a number of great coffee shops/restaurants within walking distance or a few minute scooter ride. The open air living space and pool area were perfect for our group, surrounded by beautiful rice fields (which all made for the perfect backdrop while celebrating a big birthday during our visit).

COFFEE + BRUNCH + LUNCH
Peloton Supershop. Plant Based Cafe & Bicycle Shop. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Go for coffee, beautiful smoothie bowls, and breakfast bites. NOTE: This was the perfect spot to start our visit in Canggu and happened to be within walking distance from the AirBnB referenced above.
Milu by Nook. Cafe. Western and Asian Cuisine. Go for coffee, smoothies, and breakfast bites and enjoy your morning sitting in a beautiful open air cafe, overlooking the rice fields. Order alluvthethings. NOTE: The lunch/dinner menu also look delish.
* This is a hidden gem + 10/10 would recommend.
NOTED FOR NEXT TIME: Two Fingers across the street from Milu by Nook has been recommended by many for their street tacos and late night vibes.
Crate Cafe. Go for coffee, smoothie bowls, breakfast bites, etc. Expect cool vibes, a rotating art gallery, to be surrounded by beautiful rice fields, and a wait (verrrry popular stop). NOTE: Cash only
* PS The Crate Concept Store and the new Pretty Poison Shop are both located right next door if you care to do a little shopping for a few vintage finds, swimwear, jewelry, etc. while you wait for your food/drink orders.
Coffee Cartel. European, Asian, Australian. Go for coffee, pastries, and breakfast bites. NOTE: They have a new machine that can screen print art work and/or a special message in your coffee! Click here for some fun examples!
Revolver Espresso. Geared towards serving Australian style coffee. Open 6a - LATE. Go for coffee + breakfast bites, lunch + a bintang, and/or laate night adult beverages. NOTE: We had one of our most favorite and memorable evenings here because of the amazing staff.

BEACH LOUNGE + DINNER + LATE NIGHT HANGS
La Brisa. Located at Eco Beach. Go for the relaxed vibes, enchanting pool which looks out at the ocean, great coffee, smoothies, breakfast/lunch/dinner etc. “it’s more than just a place, it’s an experience” NOTE: We spent the entire day lounging in the pool and daybeds, however, we can image this would be a beautiful spot to catch sunset as well.

The Lawn Beach Club. Beach lounge and restaurant. Go and enjoy an afternoon lounging in their sun chairs or day beds, experience the swim up bar, or enjoy any one of their seats on “The Lawn”. We also recommend staying or coming back to watch sunset and enjoy their happy hour/late night hangs/fun music.
* 10/10 would recommend, this was a group fav stop in Canggu
Nude Cafe. Go for coffee, smoothie bowls, breakfast burritos (group fav!) and other morning breakfast bites, etc.
Ling-Ling’s. Japanese, Asian Cuisine. Go for dinner and family style order alluvthethings.
Motel Mexicola. Mexican, Latin Bar. Go for a fun dinner and evening out on the town. Order the chips & guac, any one of the tacos, a chili relleno, a round of margaritas, alluvthethings, etc. Expect a fun and lively vibe, great music and dance floor, the staff to be fun and friendly, and to have a great time. NOTE: You may want to make reservations OR plan on putting your name on the list, and going somewhere near by to grab an adult beverage beforehand. Might I recommend going back to Revolver Espresso and check out their bar in the back??
Beach Garden, In The Raw. Healthy open air restaurant with lots of delicious vegan and vegetarian options. Order the veggie sushi rolls, fish tacos, the zucchini “pasta”, pizza, poke bowl, alluvthethings, etc. NOTE: This was a great restaurant to order family style.
Old Man’s Bar. Go here for late night hangs and dancing.
Pretty Poison Bar & Skate Pool. Go for late night hangs, bintangs, good music/dancing, and watch pro skaters compete. NOTE: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are the nights to go.
Luigi’s Hot Pizza. Go on Monday nights for meter long pizzas and live music. NOTE: go for happy hour from 5-7 and order a round of bintangs and the margherita pizza.
Deus Ex Machina (Flagship Store). Custom motorcycle and surf board shop, restaurant and bar. Go to do a little shopping, grab a bite to eat and/or see an art exhibit/live music. NOTE: located right next to Luigi’s (listed above).

GETTING AROUND
There is so much to explore within the Canggu area, we highly recommend renting scooters to quickly and easily get around. Taksi’s are an option as well, but it seems to be easier to get around via scooter vs. car/van. Alternatively, you may want to look into renting motorcycles from Malamadre.
WEAR // What to pack?
We all made it a point to only bring carry ons which isn’t too difficult when you will be living in your swimwear both day and night. Our favorite swimwear to pack is from CeaBikini, and we added a few pieces for our day to day and evening wear from Lizard Lounge, a couple pairs of Vintage Levis Shorts, Aritzia, Yo, Outdoor Voices, and L/Slides.
