Cave Bars. Beautiful Hidden Beaches. Pure Magic.
* * *
MENORCA, BALEARIC ISLANDS, SPAIN: is one of the most beautiful + magical islands in the mediterranean sea. Think long sandy beaches, turquoise-colored bays, beautiful sunsets to be seen from your own private villa or from the most amazing cliff side bar on the south coast of the island. This island will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
STAY
This trip was an extra special occasion in that it was filled with a number of people that I hold near and dear to my heart, as we all traveled to Menorca to celebrate my best friends wedding. Many of us stayed at Binisegarra, which is one of the most beautiful villas located near Cala Emporter. “It is definitely a magical house. Everyone who comes here feels it”. I am happy to report, that we all felt the love and magic staying at Binisegarra, as well as on the island itself..
do
Explore the island. Rent a convertible and drive the coastline. Find a beach a day. Go swimming and/or cliff jump into the Mediterranean Sea. Sun bathe. Take a boat out to one of the many hidden coves around the island. Watch every sunset. Just get out and explore alluvthethings. etc.
RENT A BOAT from Fornells Port (In the Northern region) for a day excursion. NOTE: There are a number of restaurants + markets around the Port if you need a bite to eat OR if you need to pick up a few items for your boating adventure.
EXPLORE A BEACH A DAY:
EAT&DRINK
WINE + CHEESE + OLIVES + BREAD + SEAFOOD
We spent most of our time enjoying our villas and cooking together so unfortunately this section is going to be fairly short. That being said, if you make it to the island of Menorca, we have one suggestion that is a Top10 must do.
Cova d'en Xoroi located in Alaior. Go for sunset + adult beverages. The views are like no other and sunset is just pure magic.
know before you go
Getting to Menorca, Spain: From Barcelona, local carriers offer short (approx 55 min) daily flights to Menorca.
Getting Around: We recommend renting a convertible to get around the island and make the most of your time. Restaurant delivery and taxi is not very common, but can be available depending upon your location.
Best time to go: May, June, September when the weather is still warm (think mid 80’s) yet dry.
Gracias, Bye.
